Places to go

The Smolyan Lakes- Often called poetically the emerald eyes of the Rhodopes. The seven lakes are located about 10 km away from the Pamporovo. The unique nature and crystal clear air have turned this marvelous part of the mountain into an unforgettable place for picnics and walks.

Chepelare- a small town some 5 km from Pamporovo, developed last decade as a small family ski resort at 1150 m above sea level. The exposition of skiing is the only of its kind in the country. The sightseeing include well preserved buildings, examples of original architecture, the crafts Sveti Anastasiy Veliki Church, the Holy Virgin Church. A lot of tourist enjoy it's perfect conditions for winter holidays.

The District of Rozhen- Located in the picturesque Rozhen Saddle, 19 km from Pamporovo resort. It's covered with wide meadows and pine forest and protected area since 1979. The popular Rozhen Singing Festival is held here every year.

Smolyan- situated in the narrow gorge fo Chervena RIver, in the beautiful Bukova Mountain. It's located 12 km south from Pamporovo. The town is municipal centre. The houses preserved from the time of the Revival add a specific atmosphere and evoke admiration among the visitors of Smolyan.
