Useful Tips and information for Pamporovo

Pamporovo is a great skiing resort for beginners and advanced skiers/ snowboarders alike. It is also a safe resort, but there are some things you should be aware of before you go. It’s always best to exchange money at banks or at the hotel you’re staying at- try to stay away from small exchange offices and DEFINITELY don’t exchange money on the streets no matter how tempting the exchange rate is. Ideally, it would be best if you exchange some money before arriving in the country of your departure. While most places will take Euros, the exchange rate will not be to your advantage, so paying in Levs (Bulgarian currency) is always preferable.

While bringing your own personal equipment is ideal, don’t worry if you don’t have any because there are plenty of places where you can rent. Pretty much EVERY hotel has its ski wardrobe and lockers for storage of equipment. There are more than 100 ski instructors available, and the slopes are especially great for beginners.
Getting around is fairly easy because Pamporovo is a relatively small resort and most places of interest are within waking distance from most hotels. There are mini buses which go around the resort; buses from the hotels to the ski centre are available regularly. There are plenty of taxis around the resort, especially at night when the buses do not operate.
